Rosie Gabrielle – Who Is She on YouTube?

Rosie Gabrielle on YouTube has led many people to become curious about her age, religion, illness, husband and of course, her epic adventures on her motorcycle.

Frontaer is as equally obsessed. After all, her YouTube videos and Instagram profile are filled with captivating videos and photos. Certainly she’s drawn some serious attention, as well as some criticism too.

Let’s get a better understanding of who she is and what she’s doing out there on two wheels.

Rosie Gabrielle Adventure Rider

Go back 30 years ago and adventure riding was certainly in its infancy. Then come Ewan and Charlie whose original Long Way series made the industry absolutely boom!

Now we have all sorts of riders heading out for global expeditions. Did you know that there are several men who have circumnavigated by motorcycle more than once? It’s insane!

From here, we’ve had a rise in female adventure motorcycle. It’s both welcoming and refreshing to see more women enter this space and live life behind the handlebars.

Rosie Gabrielle happens to be one of these people. Her travels have taken her through some unique experiences through North America, Canada, South Africa, the Middle East and now into Pakistan. And now that our international borders are essentially open, we look forward to seeing her in Australia real soon!

It’s clear that her model-like looks and charm have captivated many hearts. Unlike most ‘chicks for clicks’ type of YouTubers, she’s more heart-warming and genuine, and someone that just feels real. So much so that it isn’t surprising to see almost 500,000 subscribers to her account.

History, Religion and Marital Status

Rosie Gabrielle is French-Canadian, and was born and raised in Canada. She’s currently single an is an independent adventure filmmaker. Her hobbies include travel by motorcycle, photography and telling stories through heart-felt connections and the raw side of seeing the world as a woman.

Rosie Gabrielle is married:

Rosie converted to Islam recently which raised the eyebrows of some of her viewers. Fortunately, many were receptive to this with many positive comments from westerners towards her identification as a muslim. This occured having spend around a year in Pakistan and falling in love with the country and its people. Following her conversion, she has received many marriage proposals yet remains as a solo adventurer.

Rossie Gabrielle went into the hospital for emergency bowel resectioning surgery including abdominal surgery. This happened during the early months of the COVID-19 outbreak. This has caused her motorcycle adventures to cease for now, but they will start again once she’s safe and sound.

Supporting Rosie Gabrielle

As Rosie now continues her ADV adventures through the world, she needs all the support she can get. One of the very best choices is to get into the world of motorcycling yourself. She’s there to inspire us, both women and men, to head out on our own adventures.

If you’re needing some assistance, then Frontaer wrote this helpful beginners guide: How to Get Started in Adventure Motorcycling. We’ve jam-packed it with important information including dangers and concerns, as well as how do it all solo.

In addition, Rosie has a Patreon page and also accepts PayPal through her email address. Likewise, check here for some dirt bike riding tips otherwise you might wind up with a collection of your own motorcycle crashes as she has. 🙂

4 Best North Dakota Dirt Bike Trails for Epic Riding (2023)

You don’t need to leave North Dakota to find decent trails to ride your dirt bike, with some being close to Fargo and Bismarck.

This means that you don’t really need to go out of state to experience some basic thrills and spills. Then again, people often do head nearby to other states which offer more places in which to ride.

North Dakota Dirt Bike Trails

It wasn’t easy putting this list together. Frontaer’s team had to look up internet forums, national forest registries and Facebook groups. We wanted to bring you some places that weren’t necessary MX clubs or tracks, given that we serve the enduro community more than anything.

To ride anywhere with an offroad vehicle in the state, you’ll need a North Dakota OHV Sticker. These are available for both those living in the state and visitors too and you can apply for one online which saves you a ton of time.

It appears that most people in North Dakota ride their dirt bikes on these trails:

1. Pembina Gorge State Recreational Area

You can bring dirt bikes into the Pembina Gorge State Recreational Area and there are more than 30 miles of trails to explore. The surface is quite smooth and flat so you’ll be using the higher gears as you cruise through this region on 2-wheels.

2. Turtle Mountain State Recreation Area

With 12 miles to explore with a trail exclusively set aside for kids, this place is good for some basic fun. Most people do a day-trip here especially as it isn’t too far from anywhere. It’s really open country and beginners will have an easy time riding here though there are some hills for the more experienced riders.

3. Kimball Bottoms OHV Area

With more than 400 acres in which to play, Kimball Bottoms is good for a Saturday afternoon. It’s a sandy track and the place is located on the water’s edge. Most riders use this spot for a weekend of riding, fishing, swimming and drinking…sometimes until the wee hours of the monring. Keep an eye out for other users especially on weekends as the area is frequented by 4×4 enthusiasts.

4. Roughrider OHV Trail

Most people in North Dakota have heard of Roughrider OHV Trail as it sits along the side of the Missouri River. The track is gravel for the most part and it’s a mixture of single and double track. If you want to stay overnight then we recommend the FOrt Rice Campground. You’ll also need a North Dakota Trail Access Permit which is different than the OHV Sticker.

Starting Today

It’s time to get out there and start riding. Too many dirt bike riders spend way too much time binge-watching others on YouTube when they themselves could be out there riding.

Life is just much more fun when it’s us behind the handlebars. Get some buddies together, pack the camping gear and get out there! There are tracks right in our own state that are begging to be explored. Yet if you want to go south, then there are certainly some more places worth exploring.

Can I Ride My Dirt Bike in My Backyard?

So you’ve got a dirt bike and a backyard that’s big enough to ride, but small enough that you think you’re breaking the law.

It could be a grey area here and there are laws, regulations and legislation changes between states, territories and even countries. That said, Frontaer will give you a general guideline as it relates to riding at home.

Generally speaking, you’re allowed to ride your dirt bike during daylight hours in your backyard provided you aren’t causing excessive noise, dust or any other type of disturbance to your neighbors. While it’s perfect legally to ride an unregistered dirt bike on your own residential land, you can still be fined for causing a public disturbance through your actions.

There are also public liability issues to consider. For example, if you’re riding around and crash into the fence and injure your neighbor’s family pet, then you’re liable for all damages.

Backyard Dirt Bike Riding

We know it’s exciting to have a dirt bike but hauling it to a riding area takes work. Sometimes you just want to twist that throttle for 20 minutes to let some steam out.

You’re allowed to ride any type of motorcycle on your own private property. This includes motocross, trials, pit bikes, ATVs and anything else you might want to ride. Where the problems arise is your neighbors.

They may not share the same enthusiasm as you. That thumping engine and epic wheelies might look cool, but they might just see this as wreckless behavor. Our advice is to get them on your side right away.

Making the Neighbors Say Yes

The biggest show-stopper to you having the freedom to ride in your own backyard isn’t the government. They’ll happily let you do it because you’re paying taxes and the like. It’s your own property there. It’s the neighbors.

If you want them on your side, this is what we recommend:

  1. Speak to them first. Go and talk with all your neighbours within 200 yards of your home. This lets them know that you’re genuine yet friendly, and are considering their needs as well as your own.
  2. Set out specific riding times. Don’t simply start riding at 7am on a Sunday morning or tearing up the backyard at 9:30pm at night. That ain’t cool and you give responsible dirt bike riders a bad name. You should tell your neighbors about a specific time that you’ll be riding, such as 10am to 2pm. Do ask if any of them work nightshifts and some may be sleeping during the day.
  3. Keep the dust down. Don’t go out there riding if it’s a complete dust bowl. You should aim to ride a day or two after the rain. This way the ground is still moist yet isn’t a complete bog hole. After the noise issue, dust is the most common reason why you’ll get complaints.
  4. Don’t do revving competitions. This isn’t a place to show off. That noise is tough for most neighbors to handle, so don’t go revving hard just to show off. Keep the revs in low to mid-range and you won’t catch the attention of the neighbors.
  5. Time it for when they go out. If you see your neighbors cars away, then that’s the perfect time to go riding. They can’t complain to you and they’ll come home to a quiet home once you’re done.

Closing thoughts

Like we say – get the neighbors on your side and you’ll be set for life. That said, consider heading to a proper area to go riding. You’ll probably get bored of riding your dirt bike at home after a while, even if you have a few acres. So much more land out there to explore!

We can recommend that if you do want to ride in the backyard and this will become a frequent activity, that you actually buy yourself an electric dirt bike. They are not just significantly quieter, but their service intervals are much longer and they throttle response is unbelievable.

Travis Pastrana – A Legend On The Throttle

Travis Pastrana and his life behind the handlebars started at the tender age of 4, and today he has a legendary reputation in the world of motocross.

Famous? You betcha! Even if you aren’t yet riding your own dirt bike, chances are that you’ve heard of Travis. His name is certainly well known across North America, Canada, Australia, Europe and the UK.

Yet what makes him so respected on 2 wheels? How did he reach such status? In this guide, we’ll provide you with some insights.

Travis Pastrana Early Life

Travis was born to ride. He was ripping around on his parent’s ranch before he even picked up a pencil. At school, he simply dreamed of riding and as you’d expect, this is where he spent much of his weekends.

His dad is Robert Pastrana and formerly served with the US Marine Corp. As you’d expect, a tough man but also very supportive of his son’s dreams. Robert and his wife (the mum of Travis Pastrana) previously rode motorcycles. His mum actually broke her back on one of such jumps.

By the age of 14, Travis Pastrana was considered to be the best freestyle motocross rider globally. Imagine…he wasn’t even old enough to get a car licence yet could throw a MX bike around and overtake guys twice his age.

Motocross Career

Travis is well known for his antics on a 2-stroke. The man was born for the competitive world of motocross and supercross. He’s absolutely pushed himself behind the limits of physics and has been influential in growing the sport internationally. From this, he earned his ‘199’ lives tag, taken from the ‘a cat has 9 lives’ saying.

Now, we might think that a man of this stature is academically poor. You’d be far from the truth here! He graduated from Maryland University with a 4.0 GPA and he’s created his own TV Show called Nitro Circus. Take that!

What Travis Pastrana is known for is his energy. No matter what happens out there, he’s just going ot smile. He has a heart of gold and is super friendly on and off the race track. He just wants to have fun and show others what is truly capable.

Travis Pastrana: List of Accidents

On boy! He’s certainly been admitted to hospital more times than most people will in 10 lifetimes. Travis probably earned himself a membership card there!

Oddly enough, he always bounces back bigger than ever before. These temporary setbacks and just setups for a comback.

Travis Pastrana has been involved in the following accidents:

  1. 9x surgeries in the left knee bone
  2. 1x broken tibia
  3. 10x on-track concussions
  4. 1x Broken collarbone
  5. 1x broken thumb
  6. 2x surgeries on his back
  7. 1x broken fibula
  8. 1x torn ACL in the left knee
  9. 8x surgeries in the right knee bone
  10. 1x broken wrist

That’s a lot of pain, but as they say ‘no pain…no gain’!

Even at the age of 16, he won titles while riding with broken body parts, including a wrist and ankle. Ouch!

Life Today

Ever wondered what happened to Travis Pastrana? Well, today he’s alive and well and looks after his kids and wife, while still out there racing. He’s swapped the dangerous nature of the dirt bike for a relatively safer form of racing – rally cars.

This seems typical of the guys who retire from the competitive and bone-breaking world of motocross. Much like the world of dirt bikes, he’s certainly won some titles out there while ripping along at a million miles per hour.

For a man who has lived his life on the edge, he’s certainly inspired a generation to get out there and push the limits. While his lifestyle has changed, his attitude hasn’t. Life is best lived when going for more.

Yesterday is done and tomorrow may never come. You’re here for a good time. Jump on the bike and start rippin’. Braaaap!

Adventure Fairings: Why You Should Fit One

Adventure motorcycle fairings are quite popular on those who head out on anything from a multi-day to a multi-year adventure.

These fairings have massive advantages and despite the price and sometimes complicated fitting instructions, are well worth the investment.

In this guide, Frontaer will give you several reasons to get an adventure faring.

Reasons to Fit an Adventure Fairing on a Motorcycle

Assuming you’re like us and enjoy being out there on the open road. Wind in your hair and your eyes planted 200 yards in front and looking for the next hazard. That’s the way forward.

The challenge is…it can get seriously tiring to ride into the wind for hundreds of miles per day. Simply ask Adam Riemann who has ridden tens of thousands of miles on dirt bikes without adventure fairings and windscreens and you’ll discover his complaints. This is why, today, he doesn’t leave home without one unless he’s carving up the trails on an afternoon with some mates.

These are the reasons to get an adventure fairing:

1. The Wind Sound and Pressure is Reduced

It gets seriously windy at the cockpit when you’re cruising along at 70 miles per hour, or 110km. That pressure just puts more pressure on your body which means you need to grip harder with your hands and knees to keep yourself stabilized.

This leads to fatigue. We both know that fatigue leads to poor judgement, and poor judgement leads to bad decisions and accidents. At highway speeds, you certainly don’t want poor judgement. Let’s not forget the cold air either as wind-chill can be seriously fatiguring.

2. They Improve Your Motorcycle’s Aethisics

Frontaer was reluctant to mention this one, but it’s genuinely a reason to fit a fairing. A dirt bike or adventure motorcycle that looks epic is just begging to be ridden. If yours looks smick, then you’ll want to spend more time putting miles on the odometer.

If you get a custom-made adventure motorcycle fairing, then you’ll have a machine that no one else has. There is a sense of individuality that comes with riding motorcycles (most of ride solo) and having a unique ADV bike is right on point.

3. Your Motorcycle Is Harder to Steal

Because you’ve got a custom fairing which is somewhat complicated to fit, it’s also complicated to take off. You’ve probably had to make specific screw holes and adjustments to your cockpit to accomodate it. This means you’ve got a unique motorcycle already.

When a thief sees your motorcycle, they’re more likely to pass. You’ve got a one-of-a-kind design that is easily trackable. Load the entire bike up with branded stickers and some DataDots and you’ll be well served.

4. More Mounting Space in the Cockpit

Fitting an adventure fairing is going to give you up to twice the amount of space to mount extra gear. This is why Dakar Riders fit these because, not only do they stop the wind pressure, but thre is also now ample space for a map roll.

Now, you certainly don’t need a map roll for riding around the world. However, you’ll definitely want a GPS and one that is fitted beyond the handlebars where you can look ahead, not simply down. You’ll also have space for a phone mount and dash cam if you need.

5. A More Upright Riding Stance

This one probably isn’t so evident to most riders, but if you’re an adventure rider, you’ll notice that dirt bike riders crouch so much at highway speeds. Meanwhile, adventure riders are almost like a meerkat behind the bars. Why?

The fairing is deflecting the wind chill, the pressure and the noice. ADV riders then can ride normally and ergonomically, leading to an enjoyable ride out there. This is why it’s not uncommon to do 500+ miles per day both offroad and onroad, while dirt bike riders would’ve pulled up to a camping spot much earlier with a sore back, shoulders and neck.

In Summary

They certainly don’t come cheap, but neither does your motorcycle. Even if you’re not seeking to head out on a global expedition just yet, fitting a fairing is one that will last years and give you a lot more comfort. Being comfortable behind the handlebars means that you’ll ride your bike more often.

…And riding your motorcycle more often is what we all crave. If you’re going to ride it and spend money on quality gear, you may as well be comfortable at highway speeds.
