Touratech Review: Are They Any Good?

If you’ve been around the adventure motorcycling world long enough, then you’ve come across Touratech in the UK & Australia.

In fact, they even have a good presence now in the United States too. For the world of adventure riding, they certainly have built an incredible reputation.

Touratech Review

We’re unbiased as they come here at Frontaer and don’t get paid for our online opinions. In this review, we’re simply sharing our opinions towards using this brand.

You’re probably doing your research just like we did years ago. You want to know if they are any good and worth ordering from. After all, your gear probably has to travel thousands of miles.

Let’s dig a little deeper here and go further, in the sense of true adventure.

Adventure Gear Range

It’s clear that Touratech stocks the best gear in the business. They aren’t messing around with cheap gear from China that you’d otherwise find on eBay and Amazon. That stuff is lucky to last a thousand miles. When you’re touring within your own borders or riding the world, you need gear that’s going to last.

Their entire range spans more than 800 pages of incredible gear that’s going to get you, your bike and your sanity from point A to B. Whether that’s 1,000 miles or 100,000. (No kidding, some of their customers have been well beyond this on 2 wheels offroad)

They aren’t into the motocross or trials crowd. That younger generation is well served by other stores. Touratech has chosen a specific path where in Germany, ADV riding is extreme popular. After all, the best adventure motorcycles are born in their numerous factories.

Social Media

While their target demographic (gentlemen above the age of 35) aren’t really on social media, that hasn’t given Touratech a free pass to forget about these channels. As you can see from their channels, especially on YouTube, there is a solid presence there. Plenty of information to get you started or continuing your journey in the ADV world.

You’ll also find strong engagement too. They actually reply to comments and questions from their audience. It’s not often that this happens with other ADV channels that we’ve come across.

Industry Reputation

Their reputation is seriously strong with Touratech. They even support adventure moto events several times per year with strong sponsorships which makes it cheaper for riders to enter.

You’ll also find a staggering amount of 5-star reviews online. Even when someone does have a bad experience, ADV riders just know that Touratech will make it right. This is even so when riders need some help with a product years after purchase. Clearly Touratech has played the long game here.

In Summary

Touratech has built a reputation as the go-to resource in the ADV crowd over the last 20 years. While there are bigger stores out there, no one else focuses on the adventure riding community as closely as these guys.

There is no messing around here. If you need gear, then they have the best in stock and events to meet others in the community. This has lead to an immense amount of trust and longevity with riders coming back year after year.

We look seeing Frontaer’s products on the shelves real soon.

GetGeared Review: Are They Worth Buying From?

Have you heard of GetGeared in the UK? We haven’t so we decided to research further and provide an unbiased opinion.

After all, we’re an independent motorcycling brand that’s out to help others better understand how to make the most out of their machines.

Frontaer isn’t paid for their online reviews and thus, we’re very much unbiased.

Let’s begin.

GetGeared Review

It’s great that you’re doing your research as we had to do much of the same. Get Geared isn’t as well known as some of the other stores out there, but they have been around for a few years now actually.

In fact, we dug into their company history and found some interesting elements worth mentioning:

  1. They’ve been running before the iPhone even came into existence
  2. They are family-owned and there is no corporation controlling their stakes.
  3. GetGeared has taken the independent approach to product and brand alliances.
  4. They also happen to know a lot about the gear they recommend to customers.

Through this, they’ve been able to generate a solid reputation in the United Kingdom and much of Europe too. Their Trustpilot account shows thousands of happy customers too who had received great service.

Social Media

We place a huge amount of trust in the social media followings of any business and this is one of those businesses. It’s clear that GetGeared wants to reach their customers directly.

See – we’ve seen some stores that started 20 years ago and have very little touch with social media. GetGeared has taken the approach of spending a lot of time building their Facebook, Instagram and YouTube accounts.

What’s great is that they have realized how many people are using their phones to do their online checkout. It’s up around the 75% mark. So they have optimized their experience of their website to accoomplish just that.

Negative Reviews of GetGeared

Naturally, you’re bound to find some negative reviews and experiences with this motorcycle retailer. It happens everywhere. While they have one of the best reputations of motorcycle stores in the UK, they aren’t immune to letting some customers down.

However, when you really distill those harsh comments, you quickly realize that some people are just inheritly negative. Even if they had a good experience, they’ll leave a 3-star or less review online. As a business, it’s disheartening.

On the same token, there are those who may have been fumbled around with an unreliable courier with lost parcels or the wrong item sent. This happens to all online stores, and GetGeared does their best to fix these issues.

What isn’t obvious is that the ratio of negative to positive customer experiences is tilted in one directoin with some bias. Because someone is far more likely to leave a negative review online than a positive one, you’ll find more stores sitting around the 3.5 to 4 star mark on average. With GetGeared, it’s remarkably 4.5 which is excellent.

In Summary

We’re talking about a damn good store here with great customer service and a wide range of gear available. What’s most importantly is that their reputation is strong and they’ve been in business for many years.

If you’re in the UK and looking for a good store to buy some gear with, we’d recommend GetGeared in a heartbeat. Watch this space, as Frontaer’s goods may be in stock real soon!

OutletMoto Europe: Are They Safe To Buy From?

Outletmoto is one of Europe’s biggest motorcycle gear stores which operates online. Most of us have never heard of them.

It’s for that reason that Frontaer felt it was fair to do an unbiased review. We aren’t paid to express our opinions or experiences online, so this is very much as raw as it gets.

Let’s begin.

OutletMoto Review

When checking out any motorcycle distributor, we like to do our research just like you. This is why it’s great that you landed here. It really does pay to check out online reviews before making a purchase.

There are several factors worth checking because it isn’t just about what others are saying online. We need to know whose behind the operation. After all, some of these big stores are just dropshipping operations out of China.

Company History

When looking at the company history information, it’s clear that they have been around for quite a number of years. In fact, they have a physical address in Firenze, Florence, Italy.

With 10+ years of operation, they have more than 15,000 items in stock. They serve both the offroad and on-road motorcyclists which is refreshing and they sometimes have gear that other stores don’t. If you’re after some more specialised riding apparel, then you’re likely to find it here.

What’s most important is that their staff actually ride motorcycles themselves. Therefore, if you’re looking for a particular bit of gear, then it’s likely they have it in stock.

Social Media

It’s very important today that motorcycle stores are on social media, otherwise, they are dead in the water. They need to be where their customers are right now. This also adds in a huge trust factor and increases the chance that a customer will later place an order.

Fortunately, the social media content with Outlet Moto is rich and strong. You’ll find them regularly posting on their Facebook and YouTube profiles, though with some English subtitles. After all, they are an Italian-based company serving Europe and the rest of the world.

Negative Reviews of OutletMoto

Have you read some of those nasty reviews online regarding customer experiences with OutletMoto? It means you not want to buy from them and spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere.

However, their reviews can be out of proportion. This is because people are more likely to complain online if they had shipping delays or gear that showed that it was in-stock when it was really out of stock.

To say it another way – most people, if they do have a positive review, aren’t going to share it online. It just doesn’t happen as they’re too busy out there riding.

In Summary

OutletMoto is a legitimate store that has been in operation since early last decade. Given their footprint in the world of motorcycles, we don’t see them going away anytime soon.

Most riders in Italy have heard of them, but understandily, most of Europe hasn’t. Nor have those who reside out of Europe. Either way – they do have their processes and knowledge downpat.

Chrome Burner Review: Are They Any Good?

Have you heard of Chrome Burner? We haven’t, so we decided to recently order some gear and write an unbiased review.

Frontaer doesn’t get paid for its opinions by any distributor or brand. We’re as independent as they come and we’ll share with you our honest experiences.

Let’s begin.

Chrome Burner Review

Just like you, we were a bit hesitant to order any of our gear online without checking the reviews. It pays to be safe online. We were pretty impressed to see such a high rating. After all, the industry average here is like 4 stars.

Both the dirt bike riders and the adventure motorcycling crew were pretty impressed, as were the bitumen warriors. Even people from Australia were ordering stuff regularly through Chrome Burner.

What we really liked is that their team are also riders themselves. They understand how life is behind the handlebars, whether that’s offroad or onroad. This was a big tick in our books.

Gear Availability

A factor that we really look towards is the number of brands that a store has in stock. After all, it’s somewhat awkward when they all side with one brand. Fortunately, ChromeBurner has a lot of the big players like Dianesee, Alpinestars and Fox.

What is a little clumsy is their navigation. It was hard to find our dirt bike gear given how much roadbike gear they have. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed in the future.

Also, there wasn’t as much for the adventure riding fanatic as we are. Sometimes you may be better off shopping on Adventure Moto or Adventure Spec.

Social Media Content

Something that’s important is the online content. Are they regularly updating their YouTube, Instagram and Blog accounts? If they are, it’s a tell-tale sign that they’re a genuine business that will still be around in 10 years time. These guys clearly are.

We found thousands of followers and an active community. It seems they’re very much in touch with their customers given the comment engagements on their various channels. Another tick.

Negative Reviews

Of course, during our research, we came across some negative reviews of ChromeBurner. This is a normal part of the industry and something that all stores need to deal with on a regular basis.

No matter how hard anyone tries in businesses, no one will be completely satisfied. Whether it’s a shipping issue (lost parcels) or parts being out of stock, and despite having very good prices, there will be someone having a bad day. This explains the occasional 1-star review.

In Summary

ChromeBurner is a damn good motorcycle store. Sure – they’re not as big as the mainstream players like RevZilla and Rocky Mountain, but their smaller team leads to a closer engagement with their customers. Most importantly – you get what you ordered at a reasonable price.

That’s a big tick in our books.

JP Cycles Review: Are They Any Good?

JP Cycles is a popular motorcycling store with mixed reviews online and some customer complaints, but are they really that bad?

In our unbiased review, we thought we’d share our opinion and why it’s not as bad as you may initially imagine.

Please note that we have no commercial relationship with this brand and simply sharing our thoughts. We don’t get paid for our reviews.

Let’s begin.

JP Cycles Review

In the rising wave of online sales, there are plenty of motorcycling stores which now do their business online. Some are hybrid models where they have an offline store mixed with an online platform. Either way – it’s great to research your store before you spend a single dollar with ’em.

By knowing the store, you’ll feel more confident to spend your dollars and you know where it goes. And it’s always clear when it’s true enthusiasts who ride motorcycles, instead of a Chinese sellers on Amazon selling gear that is merely duct-taped together on the spot.

With JP Cycles, they have been in the business of serving the needs of motorcyclists for many years now. All of their staff actually ride and they routinely audit their product line up to ensure they have the best gear in stock.

What They’re Doing Well

What we love is their YouTube content. Even if you don’t ride Harley Davidson motorcycles (or anything else that’s metric), you’ll find yourself learning a thing or two about these incredible machines.

In addition, they have a massive range of stock and generally keep things in stock when others won’t. Searching for that rare part? You’re probably more likely to find it on JP Cycles than most other places.

In addition, their customer service team seems to really know what they’re talking about and can point you in the right direction. They have both a phone team and chat team, or you can simply email in your questions and what you’re specifically searching for.

Negative Reviews

So you’ve searched online for negative reviews and critism regarding JP Cycles. Yep – we’ve done it too and see a common trend. Most companies have the same ratings which are surprisingly low.

Here’s the thing: Most people leave bad reviews when they have a bad experience. When they have a good experience, you won’t see them leave a review. Thus, you get a proportionaly bad ratio and not a true representation of the facts.

If more people who had good experiences shared it online, then you’d probably see their ratings closer to 4.8 stars…but nope. Thus, we couldn’t recommend you make a judgement based on customer experiences alone but their social media standings and longevity in the industry.

Essentially – if they have what you need, then you’ll probably receive it.

In Summary

JP Cycles is a good store but has been harmed by some negativity. This isn’t a true representation of their store though, with so many more people actually having a good experience.

While it’s good to do your research, realize that you’re very likely to get what you ordered from any motorcycle store. Their reviews are just one metric and not so important compared to their knowledge of the industry and shipping times.

Try an order and see how your experience goes. Likely it’ll be higher than average.
