The State of Missouri is very accommodating to those who prefer to ride offroad. Whether that’s dirt bikes or ATV’s, side-by-side vehicles or registered 4×4 vehicles, you’re well and truly covered here.

These are the best dirt bike riding trails in Missouri:

1. Cloud 9 Ranch

If you want an epic resort then get along to Cloud 9 Ranch. There are dozens of trails set across 150 miles of epic forests and rolling hills. You’ll find some creek crossings, hill climbs and everything in between.

2. Finger Lakes State Park

This is a great spot with a motocross track, 70+ miles of riding trails and a great campground which is open much of the year. In the summer months, you can bring your swimming gear and swim in one of the many lakes. Exactly what you need after a tough day of riding!

3. Flat Nasty Offroad Park

Another great spot with almost 1,000 acres available with woods, trails and a great view of the Ozark Mountains. This place gets busy on weekends so be warned! Try and avoid immediately after rain as the track can get washed out and muddy.

4. Smurfwood Trails Missouri

This is a wonderful spot that’s popular with riders as it is with non-riders. Bring the RV and camp at the campgrounds while exploring the many trails during the day. It’s a private dirt bike park and there are 20 miles of good quality trails.

5. Letz Go Nutz Offroad Park

Another alternative to Smurfwood Trails is Letz Go Nutz Offroad Park. This place is open for summer yet the place isn’t as big. Where it’s made up for is the motocross track which is well groomed and makes for the perfect practice spot for the enduro rider.

6. The Walters Ranch

This is a very good spot if you’ve got a bunch of buddies together for a weekend escape. The Walters Ranch has heaps of beginner-friendly and challenging sections worth exploring. It’s over in Lincoln, MO and you’ll need to bring your own camping supplies.

7. Soggy Bottom MX Park Missouri

Here we have lucky 7! One of the latest motocross parks to open in the State of Missouri is Soggy Bottom where you’ll find miles and miles of well-maintained trails. The entry price is a little higher but as a result, you’ll find some really good quality tracks that aren’t overgrown. There are several MX tracks and kids are definitely welcome here.

These are the best dirt bike riding trails in Alabama:

1. The Ridge in Alabama

Simply known as ‘The Ridge’ is where you’ll find more than 400 acres of trail which consistent of tight wooded sections, open flowing trails and hill climbs…with some creek crossings to keep you on the toes. They are trying to open up even more tracks here given how popular it is. This spot is hear Birmingham and Springville (where the Walmart Supercenter is) and you may need to bring a trailer plus your camping supplies.

2. Flint Creek Dirt Bike Trail

Both dirt bike riders and ATV riders can access the Flint Creek Area. Keep in mind that you’re bound to find mountain bike riders as well as those riding horses too. Like many trails in Alabama, they can get quite busy on weekends so we recommend a mid-week ride if possible.

3. Kentuck ORV Trail System

Head near Munford and you’ll find the epic Kentuck ORV Trail System inside the Appalachian Mountains. There are currently 4 trails open at present where you’ll find creek crossings among other epic challenges. Bring some buddies to help you through some of the more challenging sections if you’re new to riding.

4. Minooka Dirt Park

The team at Trails Unlimited and their team of resources made this epic track. It’s designated for 4×4 and motorcycle use so you’ll find some adventure bike riders and dual-sport enthusiasts using this, in addition to dirt bike riders. This place isn’t that big with about 15 miles of trails, but definitely worth the visit if you’re in Chilton County.

5. Atmore Motosports Park for Dirt Bike Riding

If you love the notion of closed-circuit racing, then get along to Atmore Motorsports Park. It’s located on Hope Grant Rd and open for much of the year. Note: You should call before you visit just in case they are running events or are closed for a particular reason. You can go camping here or bring the RV/toy hauler with reasonable rates for locals, including hot showers available. Kids are welcome to bring their dirt bikes here with a beginner pee-wee track.

6. Crossbone MX Ranch

We’ve left one of the best tracks until last! The Crossbone MX Ranch is an epic spot to bring your dirt bike and unleash your energy on their network of formed tracks and trails. Of course there are plenty of jumps and whoop sections to improve lap times on their closed circuit. These are regularly maintained and it’s run by Troy Miller. Camping also available here with children welcome to develop their skills.

Best New York State Dirt Bike Trails

Instead of sticking with the MX clubs, you can find open riding areas which are free or entry via nominal fee. In most cases, you’ll need to have a trailer otherwise you’ll find it exhausting riding home after a big day on the trails.

In fact, in some of these places, you can actually go camping so bring your gear fully loaded! It’s always fun spending the weekend away from home with a bunch of your best buddies in tow.

The very best dirt bike riding spots in New York State are:

1. Lewis Country

Head near Watertown and Lowville and you’ll find the Lewis County Area. You can ride here in the Spring, Summer and Fall. These are legal forest roads and some spots where you can take other offroad vehicles too. Keep an eye out for other vehicles which may share these trails such as 4×4 vehicles, hunters and hikers. Plenty of mud to keep you entertained!

2. Adirondack ATV Club

There are more than 200 acres of pristine riding areas that the Adirondack ATV Riders Club maintains and leaves open for unregistered vehicles. You’ll find their spot South-East of Watertown while being North-East of Harrisville. Entrance is for club members only and you’ll need to pay a nominal yearly fee which goes towards track maintenance.

3. Whispering Pines Dirt Bike Trails

Near Lyons and Syracuse is the Whispering Pines forest area. You’ll find a haven featuring 20 miles of epic ATV and dirt bike riding tracks which are open most of the year. From hill clubs to water crossings and rolling hills, this place has it all! More than 1,000 acres for you to get you and the bike nice and muddy!

4. Winoa State Forest

Head into Oswego County and you’ll find the Winona State Forest. For years this has been opened to dirt bikes and other offroad vehicles. Nearby you also have the Trout Brook State Forest, Chateaugay State Forest, Sandy Creek State Forest and Battle Hill State Forest which are interconnected. Combine a weekend with hunting at the Deer Creek Marsh Wildlife Management Area.

5. Chestnut Ridge Park

Go south from Buffalo and you’ll find Chestnut Ridge Park near Orchard Park. There isn’t much of riding here but at least it’s open in winter unlike many other tracks which are predominantly summer trails. Worth a trip if you’re in the area already and the camping here is magical.

6. Pendleton Trail System

Located near Lockport and the Niagara Falls International Airport is the Pendleton Trail System. Some dirt bike riders call this the Lockport Trails and it’s a family-friendly ATV riding spot. These areas are open most of the year and there are 15 miles worth of tracks to explore.

There you have it! Some really great spots where you can take your dirt bike for some genuine fun. Keep in mind that you’ll need to be registered and licenced for some of these tracks and some of them are closed in the winter months due to snow.

Also – bears are found in these areas so keep this in mind, especially if you’re camping. If you’re a dual-sport or adventure motorcycle rider, then these dirt bike trails will also serve you well and a great escape from New York City. While you’re there, make a trip across the border and continue the adventure!

Just remember that these tracks are also shared by mountain bike riders so allow them right of way and make space on the tracks.
