Ultimate Motorbikes Queensland: Are They Any Good?

Ultimate Motorbikes Gold Coast has several dealerships dealing with Kawasaki, KTM and Polaris. Are they still worth buying from nowadays?

We had that question recently and decided to go into the dealership to check them out first-hand. This review is based on our experiences as a customer with no bias as there is no commercial relationship with us and Ultimate Motorbikes.

Frontaer is a local ADV and dirt bike brand with its roots in the Gold Coast who are now taking on the world. We’re always keen to help local riders and our guides have already helped thousands around Queensland.

Btw the way: Did you know about the Gold Coast dirt riding spots? We recently wrote that guide to help you find great local places to ride.

Ultimate Motorbikes Queensland Review

Yes – this is a customer review of Ultimate Motorbikes. We’ll be as blunt as we want to be here based on a recent experience. No sugar coating this!

Ultimate Motorbikes Queensland Review

We’ve heard about the complaints surrounding most motorcycle shops. It’s hard to expect them to be perfect in what they do and often don’t have every conceivable part available in their range.

They have 4 stores in SEQ with 2 in the Gold Coast, one in Springwood and the other in West Ipswich.

Their history

What we like to audit is their operational history. When did they start? It’s difficult to trust a store that started yesterday as you aren’t sure if they will still be around in 6 months time.

Inside the Ultimate Motorbikes Queensland Dealership

They started more than 10 years ago and have built up quite a reputation across the Gold Coast and Brisbane. As authorised dealers for KTM, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Indian, Suzuki, Polaris, Moto Guzzi and Aprilla, you’ll find quite the range. No Hondas, unfortunately.

Social media channels

It’s important to consider what social media channels any dealership has. Some of them hardly update their Facebook account so you’re unsure if they’ve closed permanently.

Gloves and dirt bike apparel

In this case, Ultimate Motorcycles Instagram and Facebook pages are routinely updated and have a strong history. This is an indication that they seriously mean business and know where their customers are.

What’s on offer

Essentially you’ll find new and used motorbikes as well as apparel such as clothing and other merchandise. Beyond this you’ll find the spare parts and servicing department which is super helpful across all their stores.

Helmets in store

Yes, there are mild complaints but these often stem from them not having parts on hand. These might have to come from Sydney or Melbourne, or even overseas depending on your make/model/year of manufacture.

Alternatives

What alternatives do you have? Well, quite a few. These aren’t the only motorcycle dealership in Brisbane/Gold Coast but are certainly one of the better ones.

TeamMoto is one that we also like which compare favourably. In fact, it’s their main competitor. Another option is to buy parts online and fit them yourself but this is often slow and cumbersome.

We wouldn’t recommend buying privately as there is higher risks involved. Also, it’s just harder to get finance on a used motorcycle bought from an individual.

Final verdict on Ultimate Motorbikes

So then – should you spend your money with them? Based on customer experiences and reviews online, they’re clearly doing a great job!

Sure, not everyone is happy. Consider that there is a small minority of the motorcycling world that expects everything (and more) who are just generally quite negative. This is why we take complaints with a grain of salt as we don’t know the true story.

As for an established dealership with a wide range of bikes, gear and parts on offer, it’s hard to go past their reputation that has been built over the years.

TeamMoto Review: Are They Still Good in 2022?

TeamMoto Australia is easily one of the largest motorcycle dealerships in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, but are they any good? Good question.

You see – they’re not the only shop within most city areas. Take example the Gold Coast. You’ve actually got a few choices there and some people even make the trip up to Brisbane or just order online.

But…that costs time and sometimes more money. We decided to write this unbiased TeamMoto review based on our opinion and we don’t have a commercial or business relationship with this dealership.

Let’s jump in.

TeamMoto Australia Review

Australia is lucky to have both independent stores and national motorcycle networks.

TeamMoto in Nerang, like most other cities, actually has two dealerships where they split Yamaha and Honda 50/50, while also serving the BMW riders too. We’ve been to both so we can fairly provide our experiences plus what you should be looking for.

TeamMoto Australia Review

Whether that’s a new road bike or trail bike, or simply some gear or parts, researching and knowing who your dealer is and what they provide is quite important. For that reason, we do recommend that you read online reviews first.

When we analyze Google, we can see that they’re averaging 4.5 stars. This is reasonably good as the industry average sits at 4.2 stars. With any company – they’re not perfect but clearly do the best that they can. There are also some negative riders out there – perhaps you know some?!

When they started

On one hand, supporting a new motorcycle dealership is a great idea to help the little guy. On the other hand, will they still be there in 6 months time? Something to really think about.

TeamMoto has been in business for many years. Based on this, they have the experience to serve customers around the entire east coast including Gold Coast and even Logan areas. Even those on the ADV circuit do drop-in for crucial parts or servicing.

One thing we have noticed in the industry is that some dealerships start out alright, become strong then let their customer service slip in the later years. You then have potential customers asking in Facebook groups if they’re any good, and it’s evident that they haven’t kept up.

It appears that TeamMoto is still running at full throttle. Why? They have almost a dozen stores in Australia and have the marketing power behind them to keep things strong.

Social media channels

Everyone these days is on Facebook and Instagram so you’d expect motorcycle stores to do the same. Surprisingly, not all of them are on to it! Even if they are, the traction is minimal.

As we’ve just touched on marketing power, TeamMoto is established on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. In terms of YouTube, they have been running this for 6 years now:

This is at a national level as opposed to cities specifically. Some of the stores run their own social channels though traction on those is much more limited.

Alternatives

There are certainly alternatives out there and as we’ve said, we’re very much unbiased with our review of TeamMoto as we wanted an independent opinion. You won’t find our products inside their stores *yet* 🙂

One option is the well-known Peter Stevens dealership. Most people are well aware that they are the biggest competitor to TeamMoto.

Another one is online stores. You can buy gear and parts on eBay or simply use a known platform like MX Store or AdventureMoto which we’ve also evaluated.

When it comes to online purchasing, just remember the time it often takes for delivery. Most people want to skip the wait, buy their gear and get back to twisting that throttle. For that reason, it’s hard to skip past TeamMoto for their experience and parts on hand.

Pros and Cons

Considering ordering from TeamMoto? Let’s look at the pros and cons for a moment:

ProsImprovements
Australia-wide networkLess haggle room
Decades of experienceStores can get busy
Can get parts from other storesUsed bikes are sold quickly
Formal complaints process
Great customer reviews
Expansive gear list
No Chinese bikes
TeamMoto has more going for them than most other dealerships

Keep that in mind when you’re going to a store. Most of them also have lots of parking so if you need to bring in a trailer, then there’s room to park and reverse it.

They also have a riding school here where you can develop your skills on your new motorcycle in a safe and controlled environment with their rider development courses. Alternatively, it’s just a great place to get your licence initially. In the same spot is the Honda dealership too.

TeamMoto Kawasaki

Head north of Brisbane where you’ll find TeamMoto Kawasaki. This store has a good reputation and you’ll find them at 39 Allison St, Bowen Hills while alternatively you can call them on (07) 3666 2088.

TeamMoto Yamaha Enoggera

As an alternative to the Moorooka store, you can go 15 minutes north of Brisbane to Enoggera for another blue motorcycle haven! The reviews on this Yamaha dealership are very strong with an average of 4.6 stars. You’ll find them at 106 Pickering St or you can call them on (07) 3354 5890.

Virginia TeamMoto KTM & Royal Enfield

While the reviews aren’t so strong with several 1-star complaints, those who love the orange bikes offered by KTM will love this store. You’ll find them at 1916 Sandgate Rd in Virginia or likewise you can call them up on (07) 3259 2988.

You’ll also find their Suzuki, Honda and Kymco stores located here.

Blacktown Yamaha

The TeamMoto store in Blacktown in western Sydney has some solid reviews and complaints. You’ll find them at 1 Tattersall Road in Kings Park and can call them on (02) 9421 0645.

TeamMoto Canberra

Head to 30 Ipswich Street in Fyshwick ACT where you’ll find a massive showroom at this fantastic dealership. From Ducati to Honda, Indian, Kawasaki and KTM, to Royal Enfield, Suzuki and Honda. You’re pretty well covered here!

Melbourne TeamMoto reviews

In Melbourne the TeamMoto stores can be a hit and miss affair. Some have very positive reviews while others have quite a few complaints. Often there is a change in management so what you see online may not be as bad as comments online.

In Epping you’ll have Honda, Kawasaki and KTM at 342 Cooper Street. Then head to Frankston for BMW, Honda and Yamaha which are at 590 Frankston-Dandenong Rd.

Sunshine Coast TeamMoto

There is only two dealers on the Sunshine Coast. At 100 Maroochydore Road there is Sunshine Coast Yamaha while Maroochydore Kawasaki (22 Maroochydore Road) serves up the green machines.

Cairns Yamaha

Head to 301 Mulgrave Road, Bundalow for Cairns Yamaha. It’s the only TeamMoto store around the city.

In summary

TeamMoto clearly has stores across the eastern states, with the exception of Adelaide and Tasmania. Perth and Darwin also miss out.

However – they routinely do sell parts as a factory dealer as well as ship bikes sight-unseen interstate at competitive freight rates. Each store is different so give ’em a call and see if they can help you.

Cully’s Yamaha Review: Are They Any Good?

Cully’s Yamaha in Balcatta sound like a great motorcycle dealer, but are their reviews to be trusted? Here is our unbiased opinion.

We don’t have a commercial or business relationship (yet) with these guys, as we simply want to share our viewpoints.

Let’s begin.

Cully’s Yamaha Review

It’s becoming less rare for people to head into dealerships these days due to online sales. Unless, of course, you live in Perth. Those shipping costs and transit times are tough.

After all, who wants to wait around a week for a single part to be shipped over on a road train?

That’s why you’ll find other riders still heading into the stores for their parts and accessories. Cully’s Yamaha is one of the biggest and well-known stores in Perth for this reason.

Cully's Yamaha in Perth

They are (fortunately) saved from the online selling boom and do need to provide excellent customer service.

But yet, we see not everyone is happy. And in the business of motorcycles, it’s hard to keep everyone happy. This is due to the emotional nature of buying a new motorcycle.

You can do 9 things right and on the 10th time, you’ll be blasted with a 1-star review. It’s disappointing yet true, but it’s solid companies that do their best to make things right.

When evaluating any store, we look at some of the following factors.

Trading history

Cully’s Yamaha have been serving Perth for quite a few years now and many people driving up to an hour to Balcatta to get replacement parts, accessories or even to ride away with a new set of wheels.

It’s these companies that we trust more because of their longevity and reputation. The corner store that started up yesterday might have all the promises, but it’s tough to know for sure.

Types of Bikes

Naturally, you’ll find almost exclusively Yamaha’s here. Fortunately, they stock road bikes, dirt bikes and adventure bikes. The kids aren’t left out with the smaller bikes as the PeeWee50 in stock as well as clothing for the little ones.

Given the range available, this means that you’re sure to find someone who’s knowledgeable in particular bikes and all their staff actually rides too. You’ll find new and used bikes on display, including some trade-ins which aren’t Yamaha specifically but might represent a good deal on the day.

Social media

These days, all trusted motorcycle stores need to use social media. Luckily, we have found a strong following on Cully’s Yamaha Page. Over there they are known as Cully’s Motorcycle Centre – same business, same reviews.

Frontaer went through and checked their other pages on Instagram and YouTube and found excellent content. It’s clear that this company is serving their customers on these mediums.

Genuine support

Are they living up to expectations? A good question to ask since some online stores aren’t quite this adept with their support and industry knowledge. It’s clear with Cully’s that they have with their strong 4.6 star rating online.

They’re locals in Perth that will steer you in the right direction. If you need help, then you can easily reach out to their phone, email or social media platforms.

Final verdict

So should you spend your hard-earned money in their stores? If you value excellent customer service and genuine prices, then this is the store that Perth-siders generally trust very well.

Sometimes they won’t have all the parts you need on hand, but can ship them over from Sydney or Melbourne pretty quickly through their network with enough heads up.

Just remember that it’s only a very tiny portion of people who aren’t happy. Among rider groups on Facebook, Cully’s ranks pretty high.

7 Best Adelaide Dirt Bike Shops Who We Trust (2023)

Looking for a dirt bike shop in Adelaide? We’ve got you covered as we researched and found the best dealers to buy a new or used offroad motorcycle.

By the way, did you know that there are also some great places to ride your dirt bike in Adelaide? We’ve written this helpful guide:

https://www.frontaer.com/best-places-to-ride-near-adelaide/

How is that for being helpful? It’s our spirit here at Frontaer.

Best Adelaide Dirt Bike Shops

In creating this helpful guide, we looked at online reviews and customer experiences plus established social media followings.

Best Adelaide Dirt Bike Shops

Creating this wasn’t easy but with this, we hope that you can find the right dealer to buy your new dirt bike from without much of a fuss.

We believe Adelaide’s best dirt bike shops are:

1. Peter Stevens Adelaide

It goes without saying that the most popular and clear the best dirt bike shop anywhere in Adelaide goes to Peter Stevens. They have 400+ online reviews though they only average 4-stars.

Peter Stevens - The best adelaide dirt bike shop

This is a national chain with large dealerships in most cities and therefore have the buying power to cut you a great deal. You’ll find ATVs, jet skis and of course our favourite – seriously powerful dirt bikes! From KTM, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha. Yep – all 5 are here!

2. Moto Adelaide

The runner-up on our list is Moto Adelaide who we believe offers seriously good value for the dirt bike riders around the city. Their reputation is actually slightly higher than Peter Stevens though they have less parts on offer.

Moto Adelaide

Their staff are super friendly and there are a lot of parking on the premises. If you have a trailer and need to cart your dirt bike home then this will be no problem at all. Look out on their social media pages for regular specials and stock clearances.

3. SA Motorcycles

In 3rd place on our list is SA Motorcycles in Gepps Cross. For those who live north of the city (where the best riding is) then they typically head here instead of making the 30 minute drive past the city and into the southern stores.

SA Motorcycles

SA Motorcycles has been serving those who live in the northern suburbs for many years. Their established social media following and vast product line just makes you want to hang out all day in the dealership.

4. DA Motorcycles

DA Motorcycles is a fantastic family-run store and stocks kids motorcycles and gear, as well as plenty for us adults as well. Then run very strong ethics and have a seriously high review-rating online that we’ve verified.

DA Motorcycles

They are certainly a decent drive out of the city but many dirt bike riders stop in here on their way out of the city for a weekend adventure. Whether that’s just spare chain lube or engine oil, or even a full rebuild, it’s all available here.

5. Yamaha World

Love the blue machines? Then you’ll need to get yourself to Yamaha World in Melrose Park. This place is purely designed for the kid-in-a-candy-store experience with everything being blue. Perfect for the Yamaha fanatic!

Yamaha World - Best dirt bike store Adelaide for Yamaha motorcycles

Dirt bikes are certainly found here as are adventure bikes, road bikes and jet skis. You’ll also be checking out the ATVs, quad bikes and 4-wheel side-by-side farm buggies as well. This is the ultimate place for the Yamaha fanatic.

6. Coast Powersports

Yep – another Yamaha store on our list! Once you’re done looking at what Melrose Park has to offer, drive another 20 minutes south of Adelaide and get yourself to Coast Yamaha in Morphett Vale.

This is a great store though it is smaller than Melrose Park for the Yamaha range as they also stock Kawasaki and KTM. Often both stores talk to each other so if you live closer to one, they can get you the parts or gear that you need without having to drive to the other.

7. Kessner Motorcycles

The last on our list is actually one of our favourite stores. Get yourself into Kessner Motorcycles in Klemzig (literally 5 minutes out of the city) for a great experience. They stock KTMs which is our favourite brand here at Frontaer.

Kessner Motorcycles best dirt bike shop Adelaide for KTM

They aren’t as established as others on this list but their staff are super friendly and have 30+ years experience combined. They also have kids dirt bikes in stock and ready for family adventures up in the Riverland.

Getting started

We hope this list of Adelaide dirt bike shops has you ready to reach for the car keys! Have you visited any of these stores before? Would you like to see Frontaer’s products in any of these stores? We know we would!

Let us know in the comments below and happy riding!

Kessner Motorcycles in Klemzig: Are They Any Good?

Kessner Motorcycles in Adelaide are quite popular for those who lift in the northeastern side of the inner city, but are they worth going to?

We’ve written this unbiased review sharing our opinion on what they have to offer for the on-road and offroad motorcycling community. There is no commercial relationship between us and them.

Here at Frontaer, we’re an epic ADV and weekend dirt bike brand that’s changing the way consumers connect. We lead with value first and a great example is this guide:

https://www.frontaer.com/best-places-to-ride-near-adelaide/

How’s that for helping you sort out places about where to ride your dirt bike!

Kessner Motorcycles review

Getting motorcycle parts can be a pain. Either you call up the dealership or visit them in person and they sometimes don’t have what you’re chasing.

Kessner Motorcycles review

That’s the case with all of them including Kessner Motorcycles. Even the bigger online places like MX Store don’t have absolutely everything in stock.

But…where they can really help out is the bikes, gear and servicing. Most motorcycling stores are right on to that stuff.

Kessner Motorcycles really gets its praise there from consumers with reviews showing more than 4.5 stars across the board.

Inside the dealership

What’s it like inside? Well it’s certainly quite the experience if you’re a KTM-fanatic! They also sell new Suzukis and Husqvarnas as well as used bikes from the main manufacturers.

The layout is clean and organized with motorcycles outside providing space for you to genuinely walk around and inspect them. We’ve been in other dealerships where everything is space way too tightly and you’re bumping into other bikes and customers.

Inside the dealership with KTM dirt bikes

Out the front in their carpark, there is also heaps of space and you can bring in a trailer if you’re picking up an unregistered dirt bike. There’s plenty of space here.

Their history

What’s important is knowing the motorcycle dealership that you’re entering has actually built something big around itself. In this case, Kessner motorcycles has been around for 30 years now.

Today they are South Australia’s #1 Suzuki and KTM dealership paired with the spare parts to look after your machine for years to come. They started with a small store and now have one of the biggest in Adelaide.

One thing that they haven’t really transitioned to is online orders. There is a bit of an online store setup but there aren’t that many orders with most people in Adelaide choosing to make the drive into their Klemzig store.

Social media

One thing we’ve noticed with dealerships is their lack of adoption towards social media channels. In this case, Kessner Motorcycles only uses Facebook when their competition also uses Instagram.

This is a slight let down but things will transition in time. In the United States, many dealerships have transitioned towards using YouTube and we see that trend starting to happen here in Australia.

When looking at their Facebook page, more than 5,000 people have liked their page and there are 50+ reviews of Kessner Motorcycles online. Pretty impressive!

Final verdict on Kessner Motorcycles

So then with all that in mind, should you visit their dealership? Yes! They’re only 10 minutes outside of the CBD and do keep a lot of bikes and parts on hand.

Their used bikes change often so avoid looking at their website and instead call them up on (08) 8261 9955. If they don’t have what you’re chasing then consider using an online parts store instead and waiting a few days to a week for what you ordered to arrive.

Either way – they check out as a store who has been around for years with a strong reputation for excellence. Now twist that throttle and get riding!
